Notes from eAdvocate on Sex Offender Issues

1-11-2010 National:

U.S. Supreme court:

Tuesday, Jan. 12 Oral Arguments:

United States v. Comstock (08-1224) — the constitutionality of continued imprisonment of a sex offender, after that individual has completed serving a prison sentence for the crimes.

Please notice the phrase used by SCOTUS "the constitutionality of continued imprisonment of a sex offender ...," yes I know that is just their clerk speaking, but if it is "continued imprisonment" then it clearly will be held unconstitutional, wishful thinking.

My Annual Report of "Murdered in the United States: Registered Sex Offenders & Others":

In case anyone missed the 2008 report (CLICK), and the 2009 report is coming and the numbers are up. Each year I wish there were a way to have it ready on 1-1 but if I did that it would be wrong because so many reports just come in during January but pertain to the former year. So it will be early February before it will be ready.

Geocities Websites (My Old Sites):

I think most folks know that Yahoo closed down ALL websites that they used to host for FREE, and that signaled the end to my old sites. Thankfully Google blogs are now substituting but is a different format than most are used to. In many respects it is better because blogs allow folks to comment to enhance the issue.

Sex Offenders in the Courts:

In my old Yahoo sites I had a section dedicated to this topic, and I am getting many requests to find a way to do this again in blog format. Soon I will have an equivalent to what the old system had, but this will be far better. I am loading it as we speak and will make it public this month. Yes, you will be able to comment and it will be broken down by states (note to those who are asking for return of the old method).

Finally, it is my intent to publish these notes from time to time, and folks can find them by simply clicking on "(...Advocacy - eAdvocate Notes"

Have a great day & a better tomorrow,
