MI- Suspect caught in Internet predator sting used fake photo, police say

11-20-2008 Michigan: (Phase-I)

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP -- The Internet deception went both ways in the case of a 24-year-old Grand Rapids man caught in a predator sex sting last month, court testimony today showed.

____, believing he was chatting online with a 14-year-old boy, sent photos across the Web of a younger, more toned man instead of himself, Attorney General Special Agent Mike Ondejko testified today.

"He didn't think the (boy) would be interested in the way he looked, but he might be interested in the younger, thinner picture," Ondejko said.

____ today was ordered to stand trial on three felonies, based on testimony at a probable cause hearing from Ondejko and Greg Brainer, a 41-year-old Perverted Justice volunteer who posed as the Internet decoy.

____ is one of 21 men arrested in sting at a Grand Rapids Towship home. _____ admitted to Ondejko that he "went to a house on the assumption he was going to receive sexual services."

Another man caught in the sting, ______, the junior varsity boys soccer coach at Cedar Springs High School, also was ordered to stand trial after waiving his hearing today. ..News Source.. by The Grand Rapids Press
