FL- Police chief: Dead man found, cause unknown

CRESTVIEW - A body found floating in the lake at Twin Hills Park on Halloween morning was there for more than a day, the police chief said Friday as investigators worked to identify the victim and find his next of kin.

Meanwhile the dead man, who appeared to be in his mid- to late 30s, was being scheduled for autopsy.

"Right now we're not ruling anything out," said Chief Brian Mitchell, adding the body showed no obvious signs of foul play but was bloated and difficult to examine after being in water so long.

The man was found at about 9:30 a.m., police said. Mitchell said he expected to know more Saturday after autopsy results.

In May 2007, a city worker died in the lake at Twin Hills when his riding lawn mower tumbled into the water and pinned him underneath. ..News Source.. by Andrew Gant
