Wanted child porn suspect arrested at airport

7-4-2014 California:

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Authorities say a former elementary school teacher wanted on suspicion of possessing child pornography was arrested at San Francisco International Airport.

U.S. Custom and Border Protection officers took Nathan Forstell into custody after his flight from Vietnam landed on Wednesday night.

San Jose police initially arrested the 45-year-old Forstell in March 2013 on suspicion of possessing at least 1,000 images of child pornography. The pornography was allegedly discovered on Forstell's home computer.

Authorities say he was released on his own recognizance and then attempted suicide before at some point leaving the country.

He is being held on $25,000 bail at the Santa Clara County Jail. It is not known whether he has an attorney.

Forstell previously taught near Monterey and had been a substitute teacher in a San Jose school district. ..Source.. by SacBee
