Ingleside Ordinance to Restrict Sex Offenders Moving In

Again, absolute nonsense but this would be a great issue for a court action....esp if a family has two living together...
10-9-2013 Texas:

INGLESIDE - Last night, we told you about a cluster of sex offenders in Ingleside and the growing concern among neighbors. City leaders have given the okay to an ordinance designed to limit how close sex offenders can live to each other and schools or daycares.

The biggest cluster of registered sex offenders is near Mustang Drive where the high school, junior high, and elementary schools are all located

Offenders can live there because by state law, once the offender has completed their sentence, there are no regulations preventing them from living near children. As opposed to offenders who have not completed their sentence and must stay 500-feet away.

The new ordinance in Ingleside will require all registered sex offenders to live at least 1,000 feet away from child safety zones and each other.

Employees at a local daycare tell us they've always been on guard due to the amount of sex offenders in the neighborhood.

"They get their kicks just by looking so we always have to be on alert especially when they are outside or going places. We always have to watch," says Terry Cassel of Kidz Club Daycare.

Cassel understands the new ordinance won't solve the problem, but will help keep the problem from getting worse.

The ordinance only applies to new sex offenders moving into the city. ..Source.. by KZTV10.com
