8-16-2013 Michigan:
A young man already facing sexual assault charges in Ionia County is now accused of trying to put a hit on one of his victims and the teenage girl who turned on him.
24 Hour News 8 uncovered the case while going through other court documents.
The original charges against William Kilburn stem from a 2012 criminal sexual conduct case. Kilburn allegedly tried to get sexually abusive material from a 16-year-old girl while at the same time attempting to have sex with the girl's 8-year-old sister.
He wasn't alone in the crime. A juvenile coconspirator was arrested on the same charges.
But according to court records, Kilburn's juvenile partner cut a deal to testify against him.
That apparently didn't sit well with Kilburn. So while locked up in the Ionia County Jail, Kilburn allegedly plotted with fellow inmate Gerald Williamson to have his coconspirator killed along with the original 16-year-old victim.
According to detailed court records, the plan was to have Williamson lure the two girls out of their Ionia County high school and force them at gunpoint to write letters confessing Kilburn's innocence to the CSC charges. Williamson would then kill them both, making it look like a murder-suicide.
Kilburn allegedly offered Williamson a down payment of $60 worth of phone cards, with plans to pay more after the job was done.
But once again, his plans fell through when Williamson confessed and cooperated with police, recording Kilburn's murder plans through a vent in the jail.
What Kilburn didn't know is that Williamson wouldn't have been able to pull off the murder plot even if he had agreed because he's facing at least a year in prison himself for unrelated charges.
Kilburn could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted of solicitation of murder. And he still faces three counts in the original sex case. ..Source.. by Marc Thompson
