Misguided lawmakers thing a registry will stop/prevent crimes. Its time for relection to get them ousted.5-8-2013 Massachusetts:
On Tuesday May 7th at the State House there will be a hearing before the Joint Committee on House Bills H1171, H1174 and H1409 before the Judiciary Committee. The bills, if passed would bring Massachusetts into compliance with the federal Adam Walsh Act and allow the greater access sex offender information on the internet.
We are all aware of the John Burbine case. Burbine was a registered sex offender who allegedly sexually abused 15 or more children from the age of 8 weeks to 3 1/2 years old. The information was not easily available to the public and we know at least one parent inquired and was not able to obtain the information. I can’t even
imagine what those parents are going through.
We need this bill to pass, we need to make it easier for parents to get information about sex offenders so
they can make informed decisions about who they allow their children to spend time with. I urge you to either attend the hearing, Tuesday May 7th at 1:00pm in hearing room A-2 at the State House, or contact your representative or senator. Many other states supply this information; it is about time that Massachusetts step up to the plate to protect our children. ..Source.. by Pam
