No Contest Plea As Sex Offender Gets Suspended DOC Sentence

Unspoken intent of laws is harassment?
4-21-2013 Oklahoma:

Wesley Scott Love, 27, Ponca City, entered a no contest plea in Kay County District Court to a felony count of sex offender living within 2,000 feet of a public park and was sentenced to three years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections with all but 18 weekends in the county jail suspended and 100 hours of community service.

As reported by Blackwell police Sgt. Gary Preuss in the affidavit, Love had been living with Wanda Marie Dewell, 37, in the 1000 block of South 10th Street.

The area is a restricted zone since a park in the area is maintained by the City of Blackwell.

Preuss reports that Dewell confirmed that Love had been living with her because he had no where else to go.

On Jan. 31, 2012, Love called police and stated that he had been living at the residence for two weeks while looking for a job.

Love told the officer that he was now back at his registered location and asked the officer not to file charges.

In 2005 Love was convicted of a felony count of lewd molestation and ordered to register as a sex offender.

He has been charged three times after the conviction with failure to register as a sex offender.

In January of 2011 Love entered a plea of guilty to a felony count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

He was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail on that charge.

Love also served two years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for failure to register as a sex offender. ..Source.. by The Ponca City News
