While violence can never be justified, this is clearly a collateral consequence of the sex offender registry.8-2-2012 Indiana:
A Lafayette man faces battery, strangulation and other charges after police accused him of savagely beating an acquaintance who told a friend about the man's sexual assault conviction.
A probable caused affidavit said Christopher McDaniel Jones, 25, became "enraged" July 26 when Ryan Moynagh, 32, told a third man visiting a Lafayette apartment that Jones was a convicted sex offender.
Jones left but allegedly returned later, broke into the apartment and choked and punched Moynagh before stomping on his head, leaving him unconscious.
Lafayette Police Chief Don Roush said Moynagh was expected to be released this week from a Lafayette hospital, the Journal & Courier reported.
Jones, who has a 2006 child sodomy conviction in Missouri, is being held at the Tippecanoe County Jail on a $25,000 surety bond. ..Source.. by theIndychannel.com
