Bill Changing Sex Offender Registration Rules Gets First Approval in House

Here we see someone who wants to live angry with former offenders rather than working to make life better for both. This mindset is whats wrong with the world today and is an obstacle to any resolution.
3-29-2012 Missouri:

A Missouri House bill aimed at changing registration requirements for sex offenders received initial approval late last night. If passed, sheriff's departments throughout the state would have to re-work their list of offenders.

The biggest change would be that people who commit certain minor offenses, like promoting obscenity, would no longer have to register. Promoting obscenity includes things like making pornographic materials available to minors.

Supporters of the legislation say the sex offenders should be allowed a second chance to live a normal life. But not everyone thinks it's a good idea. Lisa Lamar, a grandmother of two from the Joplin area, is not a fan of this idea.

"I think that even with minor offenses, that's part of the responsibility that people have to pay when you engage in those activities, you must register," Lamar explained. "I would not be in favor of that legislation at all," she added.

The bill also calls for changes in the amount of time a sex offender has to spend on the list. For example, when a 19 year old who is considered an adult has sex with a 16 year old who is legally considered a minor, that person could petition to remove his or her name from the registry after 10 years. ..Source.. by KODE, Joplin, MO
