The Nebraska Supreme Court has upheld the conviction and sentence of a Lincoln man who challenged a law aimed at sexual predators who use the Internet to lure children.

In a ruling issued Friday, the high court rejected the arguments in a case involving 39-year-old Todd Rung. He was sentenced last year to one-to-two years in prison for using a computer to try to entice what he believed was a 15-year-old girl.

Rung's attorney argued that Nebraska's child-enticement law violates the equal-protection clauses of the state and federal constitutions. He also called Rung's sentence excessive.

The high court determined that Rung's sentence was within statutory limits and that the arguments against the constitutionality of the law were without merit. ..Source..
