6-24-2009 NOrth Carolina:
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A convicted sex offender from Colorado who was arrested earlier this month on unrelated charges does not have to register as a sex offender in North Carolina.
Police say 41-year-old _____ moved to the area in 2006 from Colorado, where he was listed as a sex offender with a lengthy record.
According to North Carolina's sex offender registration law, all registered sex offenders who move in-state after December 2006 must also register in North Carolina. Because ____ moved before the allotted date, _____ did not have to notify authorities of his move.
____ was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and kidnapping for an incident that occurred May 22. ..Source.. by Debra Worley
