SC- Berkeley County man accused of “sexting’ an 11-year-old girl

Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly “sexting” an 11-year-old girl. According to authorities, the girl received a missed call on her phone so she sent a text back thinking it was friend calling from a different phone number.

Officials say 27-year-old Marvin Clark Douglas started sending sexually explicit text messages and pictures to the girl even after he was told the girl was only 11-years-old.

The girl apparently told her parents who in turn called the sheriff’s office.

Officials say deputies posed as the 11-year-old and set up a meeting with Douglas.

They arrested him early on Tuesday morning.

Douglas is charged with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Those charges combined could land Douglas in prison for 28 years if he’s convicted.

Douglas’ bond hearing is set for Tuesday night. He’s currently being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. ..News Source.. by Evelyn Fernandez
