NH- Sex offender snagged by new registration law

Obviously the state has tricked many offenders by making some technical change, and likely hiding it in the wording of their forms, and hidden such that registrants would not likely see it, then BAM arrested. Study the forms guys, and find a good lawyer there is a due process question here.

eAdvocate Posted 4-8-2009 New Hampshire:

PORTSMOUTH — Police arrested a child rapist Monday for failing to adhere to new sex offender registration laws.

Jason Hare, 34, of 3 Hunter Ave., Kittery, Maine, was arrested on a misdemeanor count of failing to report as a sex offender. Detective Kristyn Bernier said Hare has been compliant in the past and she always knew where he lived and worked, but he failed to meet new requirements which went into effect in January.

Hare was convicted in 1993 by a Salem, Mass. court on two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault against a minor under the age of 13 and two counts of sexual assault.

Bernier said she has warrants for the arrests of other sex offenders living or working in the city and in all of the cases, all due to changes to state registration requirements. ..News Source.. by Elizabeth Dinan

Notice the act occured in the early nineties he had to be around 17 or 18 years old. A lot of reporters give the current age of the sex offender with the age of the victim at the time of the offence making it look like a great age difference. Then they don't put in the story when the offence occured.
