PA- Man, woman face trial on sexting charges

Sexting, as expected, has progressed to non human characters with a sexual connotation to the picture.

3-13-2009 Pennsylvania:

A man and woman from State College are each facing trial on a charge they sent sexually explicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl.

Melvin F. Emel Jr. is accused of sending an animated “Scooby Doo” cartoon image Dec. 4 of the popular dog in a sexual position with a female cartoon character and a message: “Is this what they mean by a Scooby Snack.”

Kimberly A. Emel is accused of sending two other sexually explicit images to the girl.

Defense attorneys for the pair say there was no proof they were in possession of the phone when the messages were sent, and the 15- year-old had several other obscene images on her phone that she testified were meant to be “funny.”

District Judge Daniel Hoffman threw out a misdemeanor charge of corruption of minors against each of the defendants, but said they would face trial on a felony charge related to sending obscene and sexual materials. ..News Source.. by CentreDaily.com
