CO- Police: Convicted sex offender used neighbor's wireless internet to download child porn

3-17-2009 Colorado:

A Colorado Springs man convicted of Sexual Exploitation of a Child used his neighbor's unsecured wireless internet account to download child pornography. According to Colorado Springs Police, child porn images were found on _____'s computer during a visit by his probation officer.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit was notified. According to CSPD Lt. David Whitlock, "It was...learned that ____ had been accessing an unsecured wireless network belonging to a neighbor. Using the neighbor’s Internet access without their permission, ___ would download the child pornography using a 'peer to peer' software program."

____ was arrested for sexual exploitation and violating terms of his probation. The investigation was conducted jointly by CSPD ICAC and the probation department. ..News Source.. by Bea Karnes
