FL- Boynton Beach nursing home resident, 20, charged in sexual attack on elderly woman

BOYNTON BEACH — An elderly woman was sexually assaulted by a resident at an assisted-living home, city police said.

Johnathan Russell, 20, of Boynton Beach was arrested Monday and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation, according to an arrest affidavit.

Russell, who has a history of mental illness, came to live at Boynton Beach Assisted Living Facility, at 1708 N.E. Fourth St., on Dec. 11, molested the 70-year-old woman there, the affidavit stated.

The woman was taken to Bethesda Memorial Hospital, where doctors found evidence of the attack on Sunday.

In an interview with police Detective Chris Crawford, Russell admitted to the attack.

Court records show Russell has a history of mental illness.

He was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where he remained this morning.
