CO- 12 face charges for Pearl Street streak

11-4-2008 Colorado:

BOULDER, Colo. (Map, News) - A dozen people face indecent exposure charges in the 10th Naked Pumpkin Run on Boulder's Pearl Street Mall.

The Halloween tradition that's grown in popularity in recent years involves pumpkin carving, beer, and a late night naked run down the mall with nothing but pumpkins on participants' heads. More than 100 people participated Friday and many others packed the mall to watch.

Boulder Police Chief Mark Beckner says there was extra staffing at this year's event because the conduct is illegal, there's no immunity for participants, and he's concerned the event was getting out of hand.

Those convicted of indecent exposure have to register as sex offenders. Names of those facing charges have not been released. ..News Source.. by Examiner.com
