RALEIGH - Police think a Raleigh woman stole a personal computer and used it to make an adult video she intended to distribute.
Although it is unclear how, the computer's owner, Paul Carroll of Raleigh, managed to recover his property before the woman copied the video from the computer, court records show.
Investigators have accused Erica Jasmine Bridges, 18, and an accomplice, Darnell Marquise Johnson, 19, of stabbing Carroll and carjacking his vehicle in an attempt to steal the computer a second time and recover the movie, according to a search warrant filed Monday in Wake County.
But Carroll had pawned the computer that day, according to the search warrant.
Emergency workers took Carroll to WakeMed, where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries, Raleigh police Lt. A.D. Nichol said.
Bridges and Johnson both face felony counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Bridges was released from custody at the Wake County jail Saturday after she posted a $25,000 bail bond. Johnson remains in custody in lieu of $127,000 bail. ..News Source.. by The News & Observer
