5-12-2008 Ohio:
A ruling from Judge Ronald Suster, in Common Pleas court in Ohio's Cuyahoga County declared that the state's enacted version of the Adam Walsh Act (SORNA) to comply with SORNA's classification system, is unconstitutional under both the retroactivity clause of Ohio’s state constitution and the ex post facto clause of the United States Constitution. It is likely that this decision will be appealed, time will tell.
Please note, this is a lower court ruling pertaining to one person, and not applicable to any other RSO in Ohio as that was not a class action case. Accordingly, it is my guess that, many lawyers will be filing cases and citing that one in the very near future.
