VIRGINIA, ILL. (AP) -- A Cass County judge has given the OK to a psychological evaluation for a woman accused of sexual misconduct with several children.
A psychologist hired at Cass County expense will examine Stephanie Lisenbee to determine her state of mind when she allegedly committed the sexual acts. Stephanie Lisenbee and her husband, former Beardstown Police officer Shane Lisenbee allegedly molested two children known to them.
Lisenbee's attorney, John Alvarez, says the expert's findings might allow Lisenbee to assert as a defense that she was under duress or compelled by her husband to commit the alleged offenses.
Shane Lisenbee was sentenced last week to 35 years in prison after he admitted to predatory criminal sexual assault of a girl younger than 13 years old. ..more.. by KHQA.com
