How many times is the State of Idaho going to lie to registrants? Originally there was no fee, then the State said a ONE TIME fee, now that has changed AGAIN, when will it end? The "Doctrine of LACHES" prohibits the state from changing their position on an issue, this is now the third time they have done this. ACLU where are you?3-12-2013 Michigan:
BOISE, Idaho — A bill already vetted by the House that calls for doubling registration fees for sex offenders and creates a statewide electronic offender registry has cleared a Senate committee.
The legislation unanimously approved by the Senate Judiciary and Rules Committee Monday would boost sex offenders' annual registry cost from $40 to $80 — raising about $150,000 annually.
Idaho Sheriffs Association lobbyist Michael Kane said those dollars would be used to fund an electronic network designed to track sex offenders' addresses as they move to new communities across the state.
Kane said the database would link up Idaho counties already using an electronic tracking system, and connect Idaho's database to 35 other state networks that track sex offenders.
The bill now moves to the Senate floor for debate. ..Source.. by The Republic
